Skip out on the paper holiday bags this year and join us in the studio this December for a fun, festive sewing class to make a reusable fabric gift bag. Students will choose three coordinating prints to make an oversized holiday gift sack. These lined drawstring bags are eco-friendly, fast to make and are a great stash buster. The pattern offers eight different sizes; students will making the large size in class (referred to as the 'laundry-sized' bag in pattern). The finished dimensions of the large bag are 26" H x 11" W x 6" D.
Required Materials - to make the 'Laundry Size' bag:
- (1) Pattern: Lined Drawstring Bag by Jeni Baker
- (1) Project Kit: Drawstring Gift Sack
Alternatively, if you do not wish to purchase a Project Kit, you will need:
- (1) Pattern: Lined Drawstring Bag by Jeni Baker
- main fabric: 5/8 yd of quilting cotton
- accent fabric: (1) FQ or 1/4 yd of quilting cotton
- lining fabric: 1 yd of quilting cotton
- ties: 1/8 yd quilting cotton or 2-1/2 yds of 1/2" wide twill tape
- (1) spool of coordinating thread
