Gather up your 5" squares and join Nancy for a 4-week evening session to make a custom 9-Patch Tote Bag!

The 9-patch tote is perfect for the beach, shopping, or carrying around your craft supplies.  This quilted, lined bag features 5" squares on the exterior, two interior pockets for storing smaller items like car keys or cash, and narrow piping on the exterior.  Skills learned in this class include accurate piecing, basic quilting, and installing piping.  This class is suitable for advanced beginner sewists.

Finished Bag Dimensions: 13.5" wide x 13.5" tall x 4.5" deep.

Required Materials:

• (1) Handout: 9-Patch Quilted Tote by Nancy Plominski - included in cost of class!
• (5) coordinating fat quarters for exterior patchwork
• 5/8 yard of cotton for lining fabric
• 1/2 yard of cotton for straps, sides, pockets + bottom of bag
• 1/2 yard of heavyweight fusible fleece
• 1/4 yard of lightweight fusible fleece (or a 2" x 30" scrap piece)
• 1/4 yard of Pellon Peltex 71F single-sided fusible stabilizer
• (4) 1" rectangle rings
• (1) package of Bias Tape Maxi Piping
• (1) spool of all-purpose coordinating thread

Recommended Fabrics:

• We suggest using quilting cotton for exterior and interior fabrics.

• (1) large safety pin for turning
