Description
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner to Intermediate
Ready to turn "simple" into "spectacular"? Join us for a 5-week quilting series where we take a traditional quilting block, the nine-patch, and give it a modern, "fractured" twist!
In this class, students will learn to make 9-patches with strategically placed fabrics, then sub-cut and rearrange them to make a more complex, intricate-looking block. Students will learn different arrangement options and choose their preferred layout for the final design. In this class, you'll make the quilt top only.
Students have the option to make either a baby sized quilt (44" square) or throw sized quilt (58" square) in this class. Students who make the baby size may be able to finish the quilt top within the allotted class time; those who choose to make the throw size will likely need to complete homework between classes.
Skills learned in this class include accurate rotary cutting, matching seams, piecing blocks, and adding multiple borders. This is a great follow-up to our Quilting 101 course or for advanced beginner quilters looking to learn a new skill. Students must be able to confidently use a rotary cutter.
Note: When choosing fabrics, stay away from very large prints and stripes.
