Description
Skill Level: Intermediate | Instructor: Erin Baginski
Want to learn how to hem your garments? Join our super talented instructor, Erin, for this fun and educational hemming masterclass. During class students will learn a wide array of hemming techniques that you can use to hem your pants, shorts, skirts or even curtains.
The hem finishes off the bottom edge of any sewn item; the choice depends on both the weight or the fabric and the style of the garment. Although the construction of a hem is very simple, there are many different ways of achieving a neat result.
During class, students will learn how to sew the following hemming techniques:
- Double- and single-fold hem
- Narrow hem, with and without a rolled hem foot
- Bias faced hem
- Seam tape hem
- Blind hem
- Hand stitched slip stitch hem
This class is suitable for confident beginner sewists who have prior garment making experience - great for our Garment 101 grads! Students must be able to confidently thread and operate a sewing machine independently.
