This cutting session is required and included in the class cost for the Sew Your Own Jean Jacket garment intensive class. Please register for this cutting session in addition to registering for the class so we can help you complete all of your cutting preparation needed for class.

Please arrive to the cutting party with your fabric PRE-WASHED! While getting to know each other and snacking on some goodies, your instructor, Erin, will first help you take your measurements properly to determine what size jacket to make.  You will cut out the fabric for the jacket during this session and bring it to class with you to the first class on Saturday, April 11th.

Required Materials:

• (1) Pattern: Audrey Denim Jacket by Seamwork
  • The PDF pattern will be printed to scale for students and will be provided at the beginning of the cutting session.
  • Students are required to purchase the PDF pattern on Seamwork's website (linked here)
  • Once you have purchased the pattern, please email classes@urbansewciety.com with your receipt or proof of payment and we will print the pattern to scale for you.
  • Students MUST show proof of pattern purchase at least (1) week ahead of the first class (by Saturday, March 28th) to ensure we will have it ready for you.
  • IF YOUR MEASUREMENTS FALL INTO THE CURVE SIZES (18-26) PLEASE INDICATE IN YOUR EMAIL THAT YOU NEED THE CURVE SIZE PRINTED. If you have any questions, please email classes@urbansewciety.com.

Yardage/Sizing Information:

• Sizes 00-18 are drafted for a C cup, while Sizes 18-26 (Curvy) are drafted for a DD cup.
• Please refer to the pattern for accurate sizing information. Additionally, if your measurements fall into the Curvy range (18-26) please indicate that in your email so we can print the correct size to scale for you.
• Students must purchase their fabric from our shop to ensure it's appropriate to use for this class.

Recommended Denim Fabrics:

• We are currently stocking our Denim Fabric selections - once they arrive in the shop all students will be emailed!
• If you do not wish to use denim, you can substitute it with bottom weight fabrics such as corduroy or twill.
• As with all of our garment classes, we recommend that students prewash and dry their denim before the cutting party on Saturday, April 4th. It is recommended that you wash and dry your denim 2-3 times to remove as much shrinkage and indigo bleed as possible.
• Students must purchase their fabric from our shop to ensure it's appropriate to use for this class.
