Meet your new go-to tote bag! Introducing Knot & Thread Design's newest bag pattern - the Stitch + Stash Tote. This tote is large enough to carry your everyday essentials and more. Or, use it as a handmade supply bag, perfect for bringing your sewing supplies to class with. Featuring quilted panels, a roomy open interior, an exterior zip pocket, and seven slip pockets, it’s the perfect blend of style and practicality—ready to carry everything you need in comfort and style.
During this 2-weekend class, students will practice their bag-making skills including installing a zipper, sewing webbing strapping, and gusset binding.
This class is suitable for intermediate to advanced students who have prior bag-making and quilting experience. Students must be able to confidently thread and operate a sewing machine independently.
Note - Class Schedule Breakdown:
- Cutting Session: Friday, April 17th - 6:30pm-8:30pm
- Class #1: Saturday, April 18th - 10:00am-3:00pm

- Note, there is a 1-week break in between Class #1 and #2
Finished Bag Dimensions: 12-1/2" H x 16" W x 6-1/2" D.
Required Materials:
- (1) Pattern: Stitch + State Tote by Knot & Thread Designs
- 1 yard of exterior fabric
- 1 yard of lining fabric
- 3/4 yard of accent fabric (bindings + handles) - or, if you plan on using webbing for the handles, you'll only need a 1/2 yard of accent fabric
- 1/2 yard of interior pocket fabric
- 1 yard of Soft & Stable
- 1/2 yard of Pellon SF101
- (1) 15" zipper
- 3 yards of 1-1/2" wide cotton webbing
- (1) 1-1/2" triangle ring
- (1) 1-1/2" swivel hook
- (1) 9" x 9" piece of mesh fabric
- 18" of fold over elastic
- (1) spool of coordinating thread
Recommended Fabric: We suggest using quilting cotton for this project.
