Description
Skill Level: Intermediate | Instructor: Erin Baginski
The Toaster Sweater by Sew House Seven is a comfy, warm garment with two style options. They are both very simple to sew and perfect for sewists of all levels who want to try their hand at sewing knits. These sweaters are designed to be constructed using knit fabric with at least 20% stretch around the width of the body. Students are welcomed to make either version in class.
Version 1 (pictured photo) is a closer fitting, semi cropped sweatshirt or sweater. It features raglan sleeves, a wide waistband, a loose turtleneck, long cuffs and falls between the high and low hip. It’s great in a standard sweatshirt fleece with stretch or in a sweater knit to dress it up a bit.
Version 2 is an easy top or sweater that can be dressed up or down. It is somewhat fitted through the shoulders and sleeves and then swings out a bit at the underarms and hem. It features a semi high neck that takes its inspiration from funnel and boat necks. It also has side vents with a hi low hem. The front hem falls just below the high hip.
Class will start off with a cutting session on Friday, February 6th (6:30pm-8:30pm) followed by class on Saturday, February 7th (10am-2pm). Students must register for the cutting session separately HERE!
This class is suitable for advanced beginner to intermediate level students who have taken our Garment 101 class or have an equivalent experience level. Students must be able to confidently thread and operate a sewing machine and should have a basic understanding of garment sewing.
