The Big Jig creates a level stitch area for sewing over thick seams easily, allowing you to achieve even stitches without breaking needles.  Great for hemming or repairing jeans.

When approaching a thick seam, stop with the needle down and lift presser foot.  Slide Big Jig under the foot from behind up to the seam to create a level sewing surface.  

Carefully stitch across thick seam and stop with the needle down. Move Big Jig to front of seam.  Stitch into the groove of Big Jig until free of the thick area.  Stop with needle down, rmove Big Jig, and resume sewing.
