Class Session: Saturdays, May 16 + 23 - 10am-4pm
Time to add cobbler to your resume, because we're making our own sneakers in this course! Add some flare to your wardrobe with a totally unique quilted pair of sneaks. Students can choose to make high-rise, mid-rise, or low-rise sneaker options.
During this 2-weekend class, students will learn the following shoemaking skills:
- how to install eyelets
- how to make shoelaces
- how to quilt fabric with foam
- how to hand-stitch the shoe body to the soles
- Plus, you'll get a chance to use the Prym Vario Creative Tool in class!
Please Note: Students will need to purchase some materials on Tandy Leather and/or Emmaline Bags websites. Please purchase these materials well enough in advance, allowing extra time for shipping/delivery.
Required Materials - to purchase at Urban Sewciety:
- exterior fabric: 1/2 yard of quilting cotton or canvas
- lining fabric: 1/2 yard of quilting cotton or canvas
- accent fabric (laces): 1/3 yard of quilting cotton
- foam stabilizer: 1/2 yard of Soft and Stable
- (1) pack of 5mm Prym Eyelets
Required Materials - to purchase from Tandy Leather or Emmaline Bags (depending on size availability - students only need to purchase (1) Sneaker Kit)

- From Tandy Leather: (1) Sewing Awl Kit - this kit comes with one thread color, but if you want a different color, make sure you add that as well!
