Skill Level: Advanced Beginner to Intermediate
Class Dates: See class dates and project breakdown below
You took our Sewing 101 Intensive class and are looking for your next projects to make! Join us for our Sewing 201 Intensive starting this October. During this 4-week class, you will build on the foundations you learned in Sewing 101 Intensive, all while learning brand new skills. We'll be making three brand new projects in this series:
Project #1: Market Tote - Friday, October 23 - 10:30am-1:30pm
- The Market Tote is a fully lined tote bag dressed up with an accent fabric at the bottom and uses cotton webbing for straps. Fusible interfacing gives the bags some structure and sturdiness, but they're still lightweight enough to fold up and store! Students will learn to work with cotton webbing.
Project #2: The Completer - Friday, October 30 - 10:30am-12:30pm
-
The Completer "completes" any outfit you will rock this year. The Completer works as an outfit-finisher for so many occasions, and features wide sleeves, a rounded front, and the perfect length for covering your "assets"! Students will work with rayon fabrics.
Project #3: Hemingway Pouch - Fridays, November 6 + 13 - 10:30am-12:30pm each day
- This quilted pouch features a unique, diagonal zipper to store a wide variety of items. The pattern includes four size options - protect your everyday essentials: eyeglasses, pencils, sewing tools, Kindles, books, paper notebooks, iPads/tablets, and even a small laptop. Students will learn basic quilting and binding.
Important Notes:
- Students must have taken our Sewing 101 Intensive class in order to take this class. You must have prior experience sewing with zippers and making a simple garment.
- You will only need to purchase the materials for the first project for the first class. You can purchase your materials for the other projects later in the session. Your instructor will keep you updated when you are moving on to the next project and when to purchase your materials for it.
- Students must purchase their fabric and materials in our shop to ensure you have the appropriate items for each project.
- Please arrive to class on time. Students arriving late will not be permitted into the classroom.
- If you plan on shopping for materials on the day of class, please plan to arrive to the shop at least 30 minutes in advance to ensure that you have enough time to browse through our fabric collections and purchase your materials before heading upstairs to our sewing studio.
