Description
Skill Level: Confident Beginner to Intermediate
Class Dates: Wednesdays, November 18 + December 2, 9 + 16 - 6:30pm-9pm (Note: there is no class on November 25th in observance of Thanksgiving)
Let your imagination go wild with this stunning Embroidered Journal Cover by Modern Hoopla. In this 4-week class, students will design and stitch up their very own journal cover using the embroidery stitches learned in Embroidery 101, and expanding on them with four new stitches. Choose a fabric you love that lends itself to the addition of hand embroidery, making it a one-of-a-kind item to cherish.
The first two classes will consist of planning out the cover design, the stitch placements, and executing the stitches, while the third and fourth class will consist of machine sewing the book cover together. This is a great project to practice your embroidery stitches on, all while creating a project that is useful and totally customizable. Students can make it as simple or elaborate as they wish. The finished dimensions of the cover are 16-1/4" x 8-3/4" when opened and 6-1/2" x 8-3/4" when closed.
Students must have hand-sewing, hand-embroidery, and machine sewing experience in order to take this class. This is not a learn-to-embroider class, but rather the next step up for our Embroidery 101 graduates or those with an equivalent experience level. This class builds on the foundational stitches learned in our Embroidery 101 class, plus will introduce a few new stitches to enhance the design.
