Skill Level: Advanced Beginner to Intermediate

Meet the Pascal Carrying Case - a modern, quilted sleeve designed to keep your everyday essentials protected and organized in style. Whether you’re carrying an iPad, tablet, laptop, professional notebook, or even a good book for on-the-go reading, the Pascal Case is the perfect combination of practical and pretty. With its quilted texture and functional details, Pascal is a fun and satisfying project for confident beginner and experienced sewists alike. In this class, students will practice skills including quilting fabrics with foam, binding, sewing a zipper, and installing bag hardware. The pattern offers three sizes;  students can choose any size to make in class.

This class is suitable for advanced beginner to intermediate level students who have prior bag making experience.  Students must be able to confidently thread and operate a sewing machine independently.

Finished Bag Dimensions:

• Small: 12" W x 8" H;  sized for your iPad, tablet, books
• Medium: 15" W x 10" H;  sized for medium-sized laptop, paper notebooks
• Large: 17" W x 12-1/2" H;  sized for medium to large laptop

Required Materials - Small Case (12" W x 8"H):

• 1/2 yard main fabric
• 1/2 yard lining fabric
• 1/4 yard accent fabric (binding)
• (1) 13" x 25" piece of Soft & Stable
• (1) 12" x 8" piece of Pellon SF101
• 2/3 yard of 1" wide webbing
• (1) 1" swivel hook
• (1) 1" D-Ring
• (1) 14" zipper
• (1) spool of thread

Required Materials - Medium Case (15" W x 10"H):

• (1) Pattern: Pascal Carrying Case by Center Street Quilts
• 1/2 yard main fabric
• 2/3 yard lining fabric
• 1/3 yard accent fabric (binding)
• (1) 16" x 30" piece of Soft & Stable
• (1) 15" x 12" piece of Pellon SF101
• 7/8 yard of 1-1/2" wide webbing
• (1) 1-1/2" swivel hook
• (1) 1-1/2" D-Ring
• (1) 18" zipper
• (1) spool of thread

Required Materials - Large Case (17" W x 12-1/2"H):

• (1) Pattern: Pascal Carrying Case by Center Street Quilts
• 1/2 yard main fabric
• 1 yard lining fabric
• 1/3 yard accent fabric (binding)
• (1) 18" x 36" piece of Soft & Stable
• (1) 17" x 13" piece of Pellon SF101
• 1 yard of 1-1/2" wide webbing
• (1) 1-1/2" swivel hook
• (1) 1-1/2" D-Ring
• (1) 20" zipper
• (1) spool of thread

Recommended Fabrics:

• Non-directional prints work best for this project. Directional prints may require additional yardge.
• We recommend using quilting cotton for the exterior, lining, and accent fabrics.
